Two nights ago I came across a diary by exiled texan on dailykos that he was starting up a Donnelly blog (IN-02) and was asking for advice on blogging. I started giving him some suggestions and the comment grew into this post. I jumped into political blogging on my own in Dec '05 over at NY13. Now I am no expert, thus that is partially why this is a 'how to be an amateur blogger' post, so part of the intent is to gather additional advice from more seasoned campaign bloggers.
Most of this is more proceedure and structure based suggestions on blogging, moreso than advice on what to cover, but any and all advice is welcome.
Sen. Wyden (D-OR) is currently filibustering in the Senate, trying to get a vote on an amendment he is proposing to eliminate royalty relief for oil companies when the price of oil is above $50 a barrel. From the comments at dailykos his staff says he has been doing this since 10 am (EST) and it is unknown how long he plans to continue. He is currently taking questions from his co-sponsor Sen Kyl (R-AZ).
